Eight cards · reference prices

Kakobuy budget finds, with the freight math attached.

A cheap item is not a cheap parcel. These eight cards are under $19 in our sample, and each one comes with the question the price tag hides: what does it cost to ship alone?

$7$13$19

Reference price, not landed cost.

The math

The freight floor, in one example

Hypothetical numbers, clearly labelled. They show the structure, not a quote.

Item$18.00
First 0.5 kg (example)$22.00
Handling (example)$8.00
Landed before duty$48.00

Freight and handling are 62.5% of the total. That is the freight floor: the part of the bill that does not shrink because the item was cheap.

The fix

Bundle small items, but not blindly

Three small items in one parcel split the first-weight charge three ways. That is the entire argument for bundling. It works when the items are in the same warehouse, when you can wait for all of them, and when none of them is a size gamble.

It fails when one item is out of stock for two weeks, when the parcel crosses a weight band, or when the combined value pushes you into a duty conversation you did not plan for.

Do not bother

Four cheap things that are not worth shipping alone

One pair of socks

The item is $8; the parcel is not. Add it to a haul or skip it.

A single sticker or patch

Same logic. If it cannot ride along, the freight floor eats it.

A size gamble

A cheap item that does not fit is not cheap. Measure first, or buy from a listing with a real measurement table.

A fragile add-on

One broken item can consume the savings of the whole bundle.

Questions

Four questions about budget finds

Why does a cheap item feel expensive?

Because the first-weight charge is paid once per parcel. A $15 tee shipped alone can cost more in freight than the tee itself.

What is the freight floor?

The minimum a parcel can bill: first-weight charge plus handling, even if the item weighs 200 g. It is a structure, not a quote.

Should I bundle small items?

Usually yes, if they are from the same warehouse and you are willing to wait. Bundling spreads the first-weight charge across more items.

Are these the cheapest items on the index?

No. They are eight checked cards under $19 in our sample. The index has cheaper accessories; they are not all here.
